Vikings set district marks

— The Vikings boys basketball team was involved in two District 6 Tournament records last Saturday.

The Vikings and Lake Roosevelt set the record for most combined points scored in one game in Mabton’s 91-86 overtime victory over Lake Roosevelt. The mark of 177 combined points snaps the previous record of 171 set in 1955 by Chelan and Grand Coulee.

Also in Saturday’s game, Lake Roosevelt set the tournament record for most points scored in a losing cause. Grand Coulee scored 81 points in the 1955 contest.
