Hermiston man injured in crash

— A Hermiston man is recovering from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Friday.

Farit G. Marroquin-Reyes, 25, was the passenger in a 2011 Dodge Charger driven by Ramon M. Barboza, 26, of Mabton that was totaled in the crash, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Barboza was driving northbound on state Highway 221 at Milepost 21 when his vehicle was struck from behind by a 2005 Nissan Altima, troopers said.

Driving the Altima was Israel Castillo-Graciano, 28, of Grandview, the State Patrol said.

Neither Barboza nor Castillo-Graciano were injured, according to the crash report.

Marroquin-Reyes was transported to PMH Medical Center in Prosser.

All three men were wearing seatbelts and both vehicles were totaled, troopers said.

The cause of the crash was following too closely for which Castillo-Graciano has been charged, according to troopers.
