— Director Julie Trumble is excited to begin rehearsals for the Over the Hill Theatricals production of the children’s classic Sleeping Beauty.

While she had thought to have the cast first read through Thursday, following auditions held Monday and Tuesday —the scripts hadn’t arrived yet,” she said.

So, the cast will meet Monday at Our Saviour’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. for the first of 10 weeks of rehearsals.

“The good news is I have a great cast and I’m excited to begin our journey,” Trumble said.

The cast for Sleeping Beauty include Janet Minton in the title role.

With her will be Dee Howe, as Blue Faun, Karen Santos as Phoebe, Debbie Mendoza as Sybil, Ann Glower as Minerva, with Lloyd Hazzard as the King and Charlene Dunnington as the Queen. Sheila Hazzard will play Trollarina.

Trumble said the prince is yet to be cast.

The play opens Oct. 8 with five performances to be staged at Sunnyside High School auditorium.
