Latino programs set

— Yakima Valley Libraries are implementing a Latino Americans: 500 Years of History exhibit this month.

The month-long program series is a project funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.

Yakima Valley Libraries plan public programming discussing local and national Latino history and culture.

—In addition, the library will be inviting the public to participate in documenting their history and lives.

Events include a discussion at 7:30 p.m. June 9 at the Yakima library about the PBS, series’ War and Peace episode, which highlights the experiences of Latino Americans who served in the Armed Forces during World War II.
