Rafael Tijerina, 44, was arrested on motor vehicle theft charges.

Just before 3 p.m. yesterday a resident called police to report suspicious activity at 605 Park Drive.

The resident told police a man, later identified as Tijerina, was seen rummaging through a boat and attempting to gain entry to the home there, according to Cmdr. Scott Bailey.

He said Tijerina’s attempts set off a burglar alarm.

A witness told police Tijernia was seen entering the backyard, where a motorcycle was located. He was witnessed stealing the motorcycle and seen on East Edison Avenue, Bailey said.

Police found Tijerina sitting on a motorcycle at the intersection of South Fifth Street and East Edison Avenue. He was attempting to push it down the street, Bailey said.
