Seder meal planned

— A Passover Seder meal will be celebrated at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Church of the Nazarene gym, 500 N. Elm St.

There is no charge for the Jewish dinner, which traditionally celebrating the Hebrews escape from Egyptian slavery. The symbolic Seder elements will be explained as part of the dinner.

The Passover meal is held in memory of the days of Egyptian slavery and Red Sea deliverance by the Lord. Sunday’s dinner will also explain how the Jewish Messiah is exemplified through the symbolism of the Seder Table.

The Jewish Passover will be celebrated April 23, although most years it falls closer to Easter.

To reserve a spot at the table, call the church at 882-8002.

The Seder Meal is the first of a series of Holy Week activities leading up to Easter Sunday, March 27 at the church.

March 20, the children will present a Psalm Sunday program during regular church services.

Nightly devotionals will be hosted 5-7 p.m. March 23-24 with a Good Friday lesson from 4:3-6:30 p.m.

The church will also co-sponsored the community Easter Egg Hunt at the community center, 812 Wallace Way at 8:30 a.m. March 26.

The annual Easter Sunday sunrise service is planned for 7:30 a.m. on the church lawn.
