GRANDVIEW Grandview soccer moved into first-place in the league after beating Ellensburg, 5-0, last night.
“We took Ellensburg out in the first half with relentless attacking from our team,” coach Anne Holden said. “In the second half, we kept control and secured the win.”
The Greyhounds began the game with an all-out attack, scoring four goals in the first half.
After the break, Grandview kept control of the game and scored one more goal.
Johnny Mata scored the first goal; Israel Aguilar grabbed the second.
Israel Gonzalez had the third and Alvaro Flores made the last two goals.
Keeper Antonio Garcia had three saves on the day. Grandview had 11 shots on target.
Bulldogs goalkeeper Oscar Mungia made six saves. His team had three shots on target.
The ‘Hounds (10-3-1) play Quincy (7-3-3) at noon tomorrow.
