Grandview tennis splits with Bulldogs

— The ‘Hounds boys and girls tennis teams split their matches with Ellensburg.

The boys won, 3-2; while the girls fell, 4-1.

Ellensburg won both boys single matches.

No. 1 singles Stephen Chmlewski defeated Alfonso Granados, 6-1, 6-2. No. 2 player Shine Sun defeated Nathan Moreno, 6-1, 6-0.

The Grandview boys turned the match around, winning the three doubles matches.

No.1 doubles Roger Escareno and Esgar Valencia defeated Jake Andrews and Tommy Hyatt, 6-4, 7-5. No. 2 players Marc Martinez and Joel Pina defeated Sam Lanza and Johnny Bartlett, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

No. 3 teammates Isaiah Villareal and Bailey Maya defeated Sam Teske and Andrew Hull, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

In girls singles, ‘Hounds No. 1 player Alexandra Gonzalez defeated Rosalyn Goveia, 6-1, 6-2. The Bulldogs Tamzen Shissler defeated Perla Razo, 6-0, 6-7, 6-3.

Ellensburg girls swept the Greyhounds in doubles matches.

No. 1 doubles Kylie Melton and Kimberly Lonowski defeated Savannah Gonzalez and Lorena Torres, 6-0, 6-4. No. 2 players Ashley Rickey and Ashley Higdon defeated Briseida Espindola and Maria Ramos, 6-1, 6-1.

No. 3 teammates Anna Roberts and Rachel Gruber defeated Alexa Rodriguez and Adriana Moreno, 6-0, 6-2.

Grandview boys (5-8) and girls (2-11) finished the regular season and head into the post season Saturday.


PASCO — The Grizzlies boys and girls tennis teams dropped their match at Chiawana.

The boys fell, 5-2, with the girls falling, 7-0.
