GRANGER The town’s new fitness center opens next month.
Anytime Fitness will open in December and is currently accepting pre-sale customers.
Jaime De La Torre Jr.’s family owns the new business.
His parents, Eva and Jaime De La Torre Sr., previously opened an Anytime Fitness in Wapato.
“We like to go to small communities that have a need for new business,” De La Torre Jr. said.
Granger’s Anytime Fitness is located at 201 Railroad Ave. It is next to a new Yakima Valley Farm Worker’s Clinic.
Anytime Fitness can be reached at 509-383-6171.
Construction on both store fronts began this past summer.
Together, they have a combined 7,500 in new square footage.
The buildings sit on an acre across from City Hall, 102 Main St.
The land was previously owned by the city, which sold the property to Joe Sevigny of Vagabond Properties for $187,655, City Clerk Alice Koerner said.
Anytime Fitness and the clinic are both leasing space from Sevigny.
Sevigny, a Yakima Valley native with family in the area including Zillah, said the Granger site suits his project.
“We felt it was the heart of the city, not just a development by the side of a freeway,” he said.
The Yakima Valley Farm Workers clinic will be the second to open in the city in the past 12 months. Neighborhood Health opened a clinic last November.
