Schools eye building projects

Grandview, Prosser plan public meetings

— Two Lower Yakima Valley school districts will have meetings to review options for new building construction.


The School District will have two community informational meetings regarding proposed elementary and high school construction and renovations.

The first is Wednesday in the high school, 1203 Prosser Ave.

The second is Oct. 20 in Keene-Riverview Elementary School, 832 Park Ave.

Both meetings begin at 7 p.m.

Board members will share a task force recommendations and the results of a community survey.

The board has previously met with an architect to review the findings.

They include either modernize the existing high school building or constructing a new high school next to the football stadium.


The School District is considering construction of a new high school.

The district’s facilities committee will host an open house from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 18 to gather public comment.

The meeting is in the high school library, 1601 W. Fifth St.

The district has contracted with an architect.

The company will unveil plans for a new house school building during the open house.
