— A local company has reached a settlement with the federal Environmental Protection Agency.

Pace International LLC, was accused of Clean Air Act violations.

According to the company, Pace manufactures post-harvest fruit coatings to protect fruit and vegetables for their farm to table journey.

The coatings release harmful compounds into the atmosphere, the agency said. They are harmful if inhaled.

The settlement includes a $77,134 penalty. Pace agreed to invest $78,427.00 in a pollution-reducing facility upgrade.
