Agency shuts down plant

— The federal Bureau of Reclamation has shut down its irrigation pump plant due to mechanical issues.

The plant will be shuttered for 6-10 days, depending on repairs, officials said. The plant feeds water into the Kennewick Irrigation District downstream.

Meanwhile, the district will continue to fill canals served by other pump stations. The water supply is on schedule to the Willowbrook, Red Mountain and Elliott Lake systems.
