CWAC to split for football

— The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association is splitting the Central Washington Athletic Conference for the next football season.

There will be north and south divisions to make the conference more competitive during the fall 2017 season.

The 10-team conference has had only one non-league game for each team in the past. With the conference divided, teams will have more non-league games on the schedule.

Grandview, Prosser, Selah, Toppenish and Wapato comprise the south division, while Othello, Ellensburg, Ephrata, and Quincy make up the north.
