Prosser man not injured in crash

Ford Expedition hits tractor near Mattawa

— A Prosser man was uninjured Thursday afternoon when a Ford Expedition slammed into his farm equipment.

Wesley Young, 33, was uninjured, according to the Washington State Patrol. But the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were taken to the hospital.

The crash occurred about 2:42 p.m. 5 miles north of the city on state Highway 243.

Isidro Morfin, 37, of Mattawa was airlifted initially to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, then to Harborview Medical Center, the patrol said. His passenger, Robert Ross, 47, of Mattawa, was taken via ambulance to Mattawa Medical Center.

A patrol report said Young was southbound in his 2008 International Harvester when northbound Morfin crossed the centerline and crashed into the tractor.

Quincy Tow removed the 2010 Ford Expedition from the scene while Davis Towing removed the tractor, the report said.

The crash remains under investigation; it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
