Car-tractor crash sends man to hospital

Drugs, alcohol may have been factors in crash

— A local man was injured late Saturday afternoon after the car he was driving collided with a farm tractor.

The crash took place about 5 p.m. near the intersection of Alexander and North McLean roads, on the south side of the city.

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper C. Williams, drugs and/or alcohol may have been a factors in the incident.

Cesar Aguilar Osorio, 35, of Sunnyside, was taken to Astria Regional Medical Center in Yakima following the crash.

He was driving a 1999 Honda Accord 4-door, the State Patrol Said.

Aguilar Osorio was westbound on Alexander Road, Williams said in a crash report. A tractor driven by Jason M. Sheehan, 42, of Sunnyside, was

eastbound.

According to Williams, the Honda struck the side of the tractor head-on.

The car was destroyed and impounded by Kay’s Towing of Sunnyside, the report said.

Williams said the investigation continues, and charges are pending.

The well-traveled mile of Alexander between Midvale Road and the Sunnyside-Mabton Highway was shutdown while the crash was investigated.
