YAKIMA The Center for Latino Farmers, conference, “Food Safety for Farmers and Consumers” will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Yakima Convention Center.
The conference will focus on educating the new farmers on Food Safety Modernization, a division of the Rural Community Development Resources.
With support from the Washington State Department of Agriculture, the center is sponsoring the Small Farms Conference to bring together producers, professionals, stakeholders and agriculture associations. They will be hearing from experts on topics of food safety facing small producers.
The non-profit organization has been serving beginning farmers and ranchers in Washington for over 15 years in providing access to USDA and WSDA programs and services.
