Civics test bill hearing set for tomorrow

— A bill requiring students to pass a civics test before graduation will receive a full Education Committee hearing Tuesday.

House Bill 1707 was introduced by Rep. Bruce Chandler. If passed and signed into law, all candidates for high school graduation would be required to first past a civics test.

The hearing is at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow in House Hearing Room A of the John L. O’Brien Building.
