County charges woman

— A local woman appeared in Yakima County Superior Court yesterday after she was accused of check fraud.

Tiare Aqua Leilani Miller, 29, is charged with forgery and second-degree theft, records show.

Yakima County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested her Tuesday after a Moxee resident reported checks ordered from the bank never arrived.

Miller is accused of attempting to cash three checks for a combined total of $1,270, records show.

Deputies were able to identify Miller as the suspect through a combination of US Bank’s fingerprint technology and video surveillance footage, records show.
