Car prowl suspect nabbed

— A Granger man was arrested Wednesday as police solved a series of car prowls with the help of citizens.

Joseph Michael Hilario, 23, of 208 S. 4th St., Granger, was arrested just before 9 a.m. near the Heights Apartments, Police Cmdr Scott Bailey said.

Hilario has been charged with attempted motor vehicle theft, three counts of possession of stolen property and vehicle prowling.

First signs of the prowls came in the early morning hours Wednesday. Police were called to Harrison Hill.

The police were notified of a subject prowling a vehicle in the 500 block of Dayton Drive. They were given a good description of the subject.

A short time later, Officers actively on patrol located a subject matching the description walking near the Heights Apartments. He was detained and allegedly had in his possession property that belonged to others.
