Yakima plans Sunday parade

— Free horse carriage rides that begin and end at the Community Christmas Tree at Millennium Plaza will be part of the holiday activities leading up to the Yakima Lighted Holiday Parade at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The parade procession will begin at 6th Avenue and continue down Yakima Avenue to 3rd Street.

The parade is organized by the Sunfair Parade Association, with sponsorship from Ron’s Coins and Collectibles.

Immediately after the parade, a lighting ceremony will take place at the community tree at Millennium Plaza.

The carriage rides will be offered every 20 to 25 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 5 p.m. Friday.

Rides will also be offered from 12-4 p.m. each of the next three Saturdays; December 2, 9, and 16.
