TOPPENISH The Sinegal Family Foundation has awarded Heritage University $1.14 million, which will be used to fund five full tuition, stackable scholarships each year for the next four years.
A total of 20 students will earn their degrees with this scholarship, which pays for tuition and books for four years of study. The scholarship program emphasizes the Sinegal family’s dedication to helping under resourced students pursue higher education.
Jim and Jan Sinegal expressed their excitement about the opportunities students will have through these scholarships.
“The educational experience at Heritage is transformative. Seven Heritage graduates are currently working at Costco headquarters; they’re invaluable employees,” Jim Sinegal said.
“Jan and I are thrilled to help the university continue its mission of serving students and developing outstanding graduates.”
In addition to tuition, the scholarship also provides funding for books. The scholarships will be awarded to incoming and existing first year students who are committed to pursuing their education and plan on attending Heritage University full-time for four years and graduating. The students in each cohort will also have opportunities to interact regularly with Costco leaders.
Heritage University President Dr. Andrew Sund said this scholarship will be prized on two fronts.
“The Sinegal Family Foundation Scholarship at Heritage University will be the most highly sought-after scholarship in our history, not only for the full tuition funding it provides
