Prosser and Grandview swim teams get wins

— Both the Prosser and Grandview girls swim teams topped the six-member Clarkston team Saturday.

The Mustangs won, 90-53, and the Greyhounds, 68-58.

Prosser’s Rachel Blount, Rachel Forrister, Abbigail Albreicht and Kaitlyn Ott combined efforts to win the 200-yard medley relay in 2:23.68. Clarkston’s relay finished in 2:27.02.

With that time, Ally Webb, Kaitlyn Flynn, Grace Duman and Azaria Adams bested Grandview’s Felicia Pena, Maxine Ocampo, Adri Graf and Jasel Perez. The Greyhounds finished in 2:37.62.

In 200-yard freestyle, Grandview’s Pena and Kendall Roberson took first and second in times of 2:47.21 and 2:49.95, respectively.

Clarkston’s Christine Gibler finished in 3:08.84.

Prosser’s fastest time was 3:01.32, posted by Taylor Wolfe.

Webb won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:43.42.

Ocampo clocked 3:02.02, and Ott finished in 3:11.22.

Perez won the 50-yard freestyle for the Greyhounds, tagging the edge of the pool in 32.58, and Albriecht had a finish of 32.22 for the Mustangs.

The second Prosser swimmer in the race, Brooklyn Shultz, finished in 33:72,

The second-fastest Greyhounds swimmer was Kourtnee Soria, who finished in 36.85.

Forrister had the fastest time in the 100-yard butterfly, 1:17.64, for a Prosser win, and Graf won the race for Grandview in 1:35.78.

The second-place swimmer against both was Clarkston’s Duman in 1:40.94.

In the 100-yard freestyle races, Blount and Roberson claimed wins for each of their teams. Blount lapped the pool twice for a time of 1:10.93, and Roberson finished in 1:17.05.

Gibler was second against the Mustangs, and Soria was second for the Greyhounds.

The 500-freestyle race belonged to Webb, who has hopes of returning to the state swim championship meet.

She twice lapped the competition in 5:56.53.

Ott and Pena were behind her in 7:29.21 and 7:29.22, respectively.

Perez, Roberson, Graf and Pena teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle in 2:16.05 for the Greyhounds, while Wolfe, Shultz, Halley Carrick and Grace Bryan won it for the Mustangs in 2:21.52.

Clarkston’s team of Flynn, Gibler, Webb and Savannah Wilson completed the race in 2:27.88.

Flynn won the 100-yard backstroke with a finish of 1:20.79. Blount was second for the Mustangs in 1:24.50, and the Greyhounds didn’t have a swimmer in the race.

Albreicht won the 100-yard breaststroke for Prosser, clocking 1:29.83, and Ocampo finished first for Grandview in 1:29.76.

Bryan tagged the edge of the pool second for the Mustangs, and Perez was second for the Greyhounds with times of 1:33.47 and 1:31.47, respectively.

The Greyhounds did not field a 400-yard freestyle relay team, the final event of the meet.

Clarkston’s Flynn, Duman, Adams and Webb won the race in 4:57.19.

Forrister, Ott, Albriecht and Blount combined for a time of 4:58.27.
