Grandview-Prosser swimmers outpaced

— The Grandview and Prosser girls swim teams lost to Pullman on Saturday.

Grandview was outscored by Pullman, 140-27. Prosser was outscored, 139-24.

The Pullman Greyhounds 200-yard medley relay team bested both Grandview and Prosser. Pullman’s A team clocked 2:06.58.

Grandview’s team — Felicia Pena, Jasel Perez, Caitlin McGhan and Kendall Roberson — finished in 2:37.47. Prosser’s team — Grace Bryan, Abby Albreicht, Rachel Forrister and Kaitlyn Ott —tagged the edge of the pool in 2:24.07.

Both were third to Pullman’s B team.

In 200-yard freestyle, Pullman’s Wolshorn won with a time of 2:19.29.

Grandview and Prosser’s fastest swimmers — Pena and Taylor Wolfe — each finished fourth.

Ott was fourth for the Mustangs in the 200-yard individual medley.

Grandview didn’t compete in the event.

Pullman’s Gleason won the race in 2:30.77.

A fourth-place finish was the best placing for Grandview and Prosser in the 50-yard freestyle, won by Pullman’s Horstkamp.

Perez and Brooklyn Shultz finished in 31.52 and 31.76, respectively.

McGhan claimed fourth for Grandview in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:26.96, and Forrister was third for Prosser in 1:17.27.

Pullman’s Yana won the event.

Shultz was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking 1:11.54 for the Mustangs.

Mercedes Mendoza garnered the same placing for Grandview in 1:23.55.

Horstkamp won the event.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Ott was fourth with a time of 7:20.16, while her Grandview counterpart — Pena — was fourth in 7:24.50.

The winner of the race was Stanley of Pullman.

Albreicht, Shultz, Ott and Forrister combined efforts for a third-place finish in 2:12.08 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

They were bested by Pullman’s A team in 1:54.62.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Forrister and McGhan were fourth against Pullman, with times of 1:28.37 and 1:29.64, respectively.

The 100-yard breaststroke again garnered fourth place finishes for Albreicht and Perez, who finished in 1:29.58 and 1:30.49, respectively.

Neither of the Lower Yakima Valley teams competed in the 400-yard freestyle.

Both Grandview and Prosser compete again Thursday in Pullman for the District 5/7 2A Preliminaries at Washington State University.
