410 to open, sort of

— State Highway 410 east of Chinook Pass will reopen today, just in time for Labor Day weekend.

Pilot cars will alternate traffic through the closed section between Morse Creek (Milepost 74.5) and Union Creek (Milepost 79) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Drivers should expect at least 30-40 minute delays depending on traffic volumes. The highway will remain open to all traffic during the overnight hours, conditions permitting.

Please be aware, the reopening of 410 is for thru-traffic only. Access to campsites and trailheads between Chinook Pass and Hells Crossing are strictly prohibited due to fire danger.
