Magician takes talent honors

Nine contestants turned out to compete for the 6th annual Valley’s Got Talent contest during States Day Monday.

A magic act by Christian Zepeda was deemed “phenomenal,” resulting in a $500 first prize purse, Chamber Executive Director Larelle Michener said.

Second place and $250 went to the singing/instrumental group of Giovani Bardessono, Naomi Akinbade and Kialani Bardessono.

David Hudack wowed the crowd with a choreographed yo-yo performance for third place and $100.
