— “I like delivering messages and just getting to wander around campus and see everything,” Lilian Froese-Raihl, a Sunnyside High School sophomore, said recently.

She just completed a week working as a page for the Washington State Senate at the Capitol in Olympia.

“I met some really great people,” she said.

Froese-Raihl was one of 21 students who served as Senate pages for the fifth week of the 2018 legislative session.

She was sponsored by 15th Legislative District Sen. Jim Honeyford R-Sunnyside, who serves eastern Yakima County, including Grandview, Selah, Sunnyside, and Toppenish.

“Lilian was a great page,.We’re so glad that she was able to page with us and learn about the legislative process,” Honeyford said.

The Senate Page Program provides an opportunity for students to spend a week working at the Legislature.

Lilian, 15, is the daughter of Ted Raihl and Lori Froese of Sunnyside.
