New portal offers licensing ease

Webinars planned to help companies use site

— Next month, the Washington State Department of Revenue will launch its new secure My DOR portal for online services.

To help businesses adjust to this change, Revenue will offer a series of free training webinars.

Revenue will retire its existing online service portal, My Account, and taxpayers will begin filing electronically and accessing their tax accounts in My DOR.

When My DOR launches on March 19, businesses will be able to access all their tax and business licensing accounts using their SecureAccess Washington (SAW) logon.

There will also be a new look for the online excise tax return, reseller permit application, tax credits application and bill pay.

Webinar participants will learn the basics of the new My DOR portal. Topics include how to transfer tax filing history from My Account/e-File, file a combined excise tax return, set up a default payment method, and send and receive secure messages. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions about filing a return in My DOR. Continuing education credit is available.

The Department of Revenue is the state’s primary tax agency, nationally recognized for innovation and quality customer service.

Revenue administers nearly 60 categories of taxes that help fund education, social services, health care, corrections, public safety, natural resource conservation and other important services counted on by Washington residents.
