Car experts to compete

— A contest to test the skills for future automotive repair experts will be held Saturday at the High School auto shop.

The contest, a sanctioned Eastern Washington Skills USA event, will begin at 8 a.m. with auto shop students from Yakima, Moses Lake, Grandview and Sunnyside participating, auto shop instructor Nic Paulakis said.

The students will collect points at 10 different stations, from electrical to computer diagnostics to oil changes and tire repair,” he said.

“We don’t know how many students will be here, but all of the judges will be representatives of local automotive shops,” he said.
