Cocaine lands man in jail

— A search of a home for weapons led police here to arrest a man for possession of cocaine last Wednesday.

The suspect, Verado Hernandez, made his first appearance in Yakima County Superior Court Monday, the court record shows.

According to the court record, a shooting incident at about 6 p.m. led to the cocaine find. Police followed a trail of liquid dropped by a car at the shooting scene to a residence at 318 N. E St.

A search warrant for weapons was served. Then an amended warrant was served for drugs and drug paraphernalia. Police found a baggie with 22 ounces of cocaine, the court document shows.
