As a former Sunnyside resident and Daily Sun News reporter (1993-1996), I am writing to ask you to support Jeremie Dufault to serve as your next state representative.
I have known Major Dufault for about a decade in our respective capacities as U.S. Army Reserve JAG officers. During this time, Major Dufault served in both Iraq and Afghanistan. But it is his community service on behalf of Veterans in need of assistance which has defined him.
Jeremie, in his civilian and military capacities, has assisted and represented Soldiers, suffering from PTSD, who were being separated from the military. These mentally stressed Soldiers faced the loss of Veterans benefits because they did not know how to navigate the complex maze of Army regulations.
Major Dufault took the initiative to stand up a military justice office at the Yakima Training Center and personally organized clinics in the community to provide Veterans needed assistance and legal counsel.
The longer I have gotten to know Major Dufault, the more impressed I am by his patriotism, leadership, and character. Jeremie Dufault will be an excellent state representative.
