State high on bad list

— Washington earned the No. 4 position recently in a new ranking of the worst states for retirement by MoneyRates.com, a personal finance and banking website.

The company’s experts looked at 11 data points across 5 categories for each state to determine the best and worst states for retirement in 2018.

The categories include health, personal safety and popularity of the state with retirement-aged persons.
