GRANGER Flea market expert Shelleigh Goodwin has announced that a new monthly, three-day flea market is about to launch here.
The Old Sheep Barn Flea Market will take place at the Granger Sheep Sheds, 310 E Ave. on May 18-20. It will be repeated monthly, Goodwin said, until October.
The Flea Market is an enterprise of Ryan Stonemetz, who took ownership of the sheep yards last year. He’s planning to build the Spartan Sports Complex there.
“This is not a fundraiser for that,” Stonemetz said. “We need to get a cash-flow going, and it’s going to be an on-going business.”
So far, the new flea market has attracted 17 vendors, Goodwin said. She expects more by the 18th.
“We have 11,000 watching online,” Goodwin said. “That means they’re interested in going there.”
Space is being rented at $75 for the weekend for a 10X10 spot and $100 for a 20X10 spot.
Goodwin said Stonemetz may have started too late in promoting the flea market, but she expects it to be successful and grow.
Goodwin is the owner-operator of the No Rhyme or Reason Flea Market, twice yearly, in Zillah. She usually attracts 75 vendors.
