The first National Coming Out Day celebration at Heritage University is taking place tomorrow, Oct. 11.
Hosted by Student Life in Smith Family Hall, people can engage in conversations with LGBTQ+, allies and those who promote positive learning.
The keynote speaker is Karina Walters. She will be speaking on two-spirited indigenous people and other educational sessions will be presented.
A panel of community leaders within the LGBTQ+ community will be featured with text-in question option for the audience.
Yusuf Incetas will share about being gay and Muslim in the U.S., and Claudia Johnson will share stories of ally support.
Also present will be comedian Lilly Walker-Honsinger, who will keep people laughing.
Whether you identify within the LGBTQ+ community, are connected to someone who does, or want to learn about this group and what you can do to offer support on campus — all are welcome to join this event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community at Heritage University.
