Little Grapplers bring home 34 medals

With only a short drive, 51 members of the Sunnyside Little Grapplers made the trip to the youth wrestling tournament March 17 at Granger High School. Thirty-four of the Sunnysiders took home medals, emblematic of a Top 3 finish.

Grapplers bring home 35 medals from Yakima

The Sunnyside Little Grapplers brought 35 medals home last Saturday from the Eisenhower wrestling tournament in Yakima. “As expected, it was a good tourney for us,” coach Daniel Guillen said of his team of wrestlers ages 5-14. “We did very well and brought home a lot of hardware.”

Three area girls win 'Triple Crown' at Columbia Women's Cup

Three Lower Yakima Valley girls were Triple Crown winners Sunday and several others were named Outstanding Wrestler at the conclusion of the annual Columbia Women’s Cup tournament at Hanford High School. Granger Victory’s Delilah Chavez, 12, and Popeye Wrestling Club’s Samantha Ramos and Ihanna Perez each received Triple Crown championship singlets after taking gold medals in folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling styles.
