National Night Out in Sunnyside

Nothing says summer block party fun like a giant water slide like the one on which Kaia Mejia is taking her turn. The slide was a huge hit at the National Night Out block party held at Sunnyside’s Kiwanis Park on Doolittle Avenue last night. The Kiwanis Park event was hosted by Lower Valley Crisis and Support Services and the Cornerstone Church.

National Night Out party-goer Ron Dirksen of Uptown Mobile Home Court claims the hot dogs at his block party are the best in town. His fellow residents in the mobile home neighborhood all seemed to agree. More than 20 attended the Fifth Street block party, which included the hot dog BBQ and a lot of summer night socializing, which is part of the purpose of the National Night Out festivities.
