New chefs make The Barn Restaurant a popular destination

PROSSER – Daniel Hutsell is just part of the effort by The Barn Restaurant to update and improve its business. The chef was recently hired at the restaurant after working at Snipes Mountain Brewing, Inc. for a time. He stepped in to help with a banquet at The Barn and was asked to stay. He’s not the only change in the restaurant, as breakfast and lunch chef Alex Carman has added his skills to the mix. Carman formerly worked at the Sunnyspot in Sunnyside and at Keno’s in Prosser. “He has a following,” said Hutsell. “Some people come out here just to get his breakfasts.” Hutsell was raised in Yakima but went to high school in Seattle. After gaining experience at restaurants in Seattle, he decided to move to Prosser to be closer to his family. “I always wanted to move back to the area,” he said. “And it’s nice to work near where I live.”
