Corn maze, pumpkin patch draw youngsters to Grandview farm

GRANDVIEW – It’s autumn at Bill’s Berry Farm in Grandview, where visitors can enjoy pumpkin patches and a corn maze in addition to the popular fresh donuts. This year the farm is welcoming classes of students. Sessions include a class on pumpkins, a hay ride, a pumpkin picked from a pumpkin patch, the corn maze, donuts, cider and time on the farm’s variety of playgrounds. Julie Michener, co-owner of the farm, said she’s been scheduling about five groups a day to come through the farm.

In addition to hay rides, donuts and picking pumpkins, classes of students visiting Bill’s Berry Farm also get a lesson from farm co-owner Julie Michener on the life cycle of pumpkins, from seed to pie. The children also got to hold different varieties of pumpkins and squash and learn that all the different types are related.
