Arianna top point-getter for Sharks at AAU meet

By Ted Escobar After Saturday’s round at the AAU Regional Swim Meet at Toppenish Saturday, the Sunnyside Rotary Swim Team — the Sharks — was being led by girls high point winner Arianna Sanchez with 25 points. The leading boys high points winners were brothers E. J. and Christopher Villanueva. They scored 18 points each on Saturday. Because of the two-day nature of the meet, complete results were late in coming. They will be posted online as soon as they arrive. In other individual achievements Saturday, Tyler Ann Curfman finished second in the 10-and under girls 100-meter backstroke “Most of our swimmers shaved 5-10 seconds off of their best times,” coach Lindsee Curfman said.
